Math Circles

A Math Circle is an enrichment program for students aged 10 to 18 that helps young people develop critical and independent mathematical thinking. The activities encourage interest in mathematics and strengthen students’ self-confidence in any other activity involving the development of logical arguments. In a relaxed and non-competitive atmosphere, they are presented with challenging mathematical problems and puzzles adapted to their level, gradually increasing the complexity of the issues addressed. Participants have time to reflect on the problems and try to find, alone or by discussing with other participants, how to solve them. The strength of this approach is the active participation of young people in the process of reflection, analysis, research, and finding solutions; participants are at the center of the process.
